This is a Love Song was founded out of the desire to create good quality basics that did not harm the planet or people. It started in the founder's home town of Bali, Indonesia in 2010 as a collection of lingerie created from repurposed vintage materials. Since then, This is a Love Song has grown into a full line of lingerie, basics, and timeless fashion pieces, however their ethos of ethics and eco-friendly materials has remained at their core. All This is a Love Song products are made in their production studio, TIALS. TIALS Studio is where all the magic happens from designing, sampling and producing each piece in the most ethical, responsible and mindful way. TIALS studio provides equal employment opportunities for the locals in Indonesia. TIALS ensures that all of their employees are paid over the minimum wage and that they receive health care and retirement plans to better their future. There is no child labor or forced labor and unlike many places in the garment industry, they regulate working hours from Monday-Friday only between 9am-5pm.

This is a Love Song also believes in striving to make fashion as circular as possible and uses recycled and eco-friendly fabrics, such as GOTS certified organic cotton. They also use biodegradable packaging for their products. 

Since This is a Love Song was founded in Bali, Indonesia it has always been important for the brand to support local initiatives while creating impact on a global scale. Through the initiative, 1% for the Planet, This is a Love Song has partnered with Forest Smoothie® to pledge to plant a tree for every purchase as they strive to make fashion greener and support a holistic approach and indigenous wisdom to protect and plant trees in Indonesia.
